View views and views. You could sit there all weekend and watch the world go by down on the water below. From the moment you open the door, the ocean views will grab your attention and your holiday will begin! Start your break by looking at the 180’ views of the harbour and Te Whau Bay and be welcomed by the two islands in front of you.

Ocean View is a modern light filled homestay with funky furniture, an open plan living area, where you can pull up a stool and chat over a coffee while enjoying the fabulous sea view. With decks at the front and back of the house you can follow the sun or the shade all day. Lunch on the back deck watching the ferry’s and boats go by, or dinner on the front deck watching the lights of the city and Sky Tower dazzle in the distance.

Ideally located, just a short 10min stroll to the Kennedy Point ferry. If you’re heading to a wedding, you are just a short cab ride from Mudbrick and Cable Bay vineyards on the Oneroa side of the island, or equally close to the best of fine dining on the Onetangi strip.

On wet days there are board games and puzzles, turn up the heat pump and get toasty while watching your favourite TV shows or movies (we have Netflix) streamed onto a 55” 4K TV (via Apple TV) with fibre connection to ensure both gaming and movies run smoothly.

There is a cold plunge pool available for your use. Please note that by accepting the Terms and Conditions to rent this property you also accept full responsibility when using the pool: the owner takes no responsibility.

There are security cameras at both the front and rear entrances.

Two bedrooms with Queen sized beds, and the other with a king-sized bed. Two rooms with built-in wardrobes and the other with a set of drawers. All bedrooms have bedside tables and lights.

Kitchen:
Dishwasher, microwave, toaster, fridge/freezer, an electric oven with induction hob. Plunger for coffee addicts.

Lounge:
LG 55 inch smart TV with Netflix, You Tube and Live TV. Fibre (80MB download speed) Wi-Fi internet, UE Megaboom, books, games, seating for 6, coffee table and heat pump.

Dining table to seat 6.

Laundry:
Washing machine, dryer, tub and linen cupboard.

Outdoor facilities:
Decks out to the east and west both with spectacular sea views looking back to Auckland. Outside furniture, tables, and 4 burner hooded BBQ. Head to our local vineyard, Kennedy Point (4 min away), which overlooks the bay. Push on to a local cafe or bar in Surfdale (approx 10min away). Outside cameras for security, both front and rear entrance.

Close by attractions:
1 min from the car ferry terminal. Close to Kennedy Point Winery (great for lunches and wine tasting) and Goldie Winery. Close to the supermarket (only a 5 min ride). Alternatively, jump on the local bus (#501) which runs continuously between Matiatia and Kennendy Point, stopping at Surdale and Oneroa's shops and restaurants.

• This home was so close to the ferry terminal and to all the places we wanted to go to.. Everywhere was within 5-10 mins of our little slice of paradise. The views are fantastic and literally a 180 deg view from both the front and back of the house. Richard was so helpful and also came and met us on Day 1 to say hello which really added a very personal touch to our stay.

• Perfect location, with sea views from both sides. Full doors and windows on both sides that open up to bring in the sea air! House that has been renovated and modernised well. Bright and very easy to live in. Great that it was pet friendly, not fully fenced (just a FYI to others, it didn't matter for our dogs). Clean and tidy.

• 'Location location location... views are sensational, less than a few minutes to Kennedy Point terminal for those wanting to bring their cars over to the island and central to main spots like Oneroa and Onetangi, wineries. Property was dog friendly, we were able to create a barrier on the deck to fence our dogs in as the neighbouring property was under construction and there’s no fence between the 2 houses.'

• A magic spot on a quiet street. I think Kennedy Point should be kept a secret! The views at this house were just stunning. So lovely to be able to take our dog with us, she had a ball. • There are stunning views on both sides of the property and you can see the water from anywhere in the house. You are bound to have sunshine on either of the decks throughout the day which is amazing. Richard was super knowledgable of the Island from Cellar Doors and restaurants to walks. There is a hidden gem across the road where a 5 minute walk through bush will end at a secluded beach. For those bringing their dogs: the deck isnt fully fenced but we easily formed a makeshift one from the BBQ and a couple of chairs per Richards suggestion. We loved staying here and will definitely be back.
