Description

This is the quintessential, romantic Waiheke experience!  Surfdale studio retreat is meticulously appointed with attention to detail: it's classic, rimu wooden benches and furniture provide the warm and welcoming, natural tones of a home from home. It offers you a private entrance to your own special space, independent of the owners' house which is separate and to one side of the studio. Guests have access to a shared deck and shared shower and toilet. These facilities are only shared when the adjacent Koru Cabin is rented.

The studio is perfectly positioned! It not only has views across the bay, it is so close to everything you need to make your stay easy and memorable. Surfdale beach is sandy and tidal, mesmerising in it's changing aspects. There is an easy coastal walkway to Oneroa, the main village, should you want more action. The bus stop is a few minutes walk away as are the galleries, cafes and eateries.

Surfdale is one of Waiheke's best kept secrets. The coffee from the coffee cart is to die for and Anomalous gallery next to it offers the best in contemporary art. Bisou cafe provides a taste of France with an authentic French brasserie vibe and cuisine to match. Malones Irish bar will give you a chance to kick up your heels or you could stroll over to Waiheke's first ever vineyard, Goldies, just 10 minutes away, and indulge in their superlative range of wines. Have a picnic under the famous pohutukawa tree that overlooks Putiki bay while you are there!

Please note that the property is not suited to children!

Testimonials

  • Be aware that the toilet and shower are outside and involves a short walk. They are also shared if adjacent room is occupied. It is like living in a very nice camper van. Location very good.
    R Ratwatte, Dec 2023
  • The shower and bathroom for this property is SHARED and OUTDOORS to the unit itself. This was not issue for my partner and I. Very clean and tidy place, good effort to fit all amenities in.
    Anaiis Smith, Sep 2023
