Island Time    Oneroa, Waiheke Island

From the moment you open the door you can begin to relax in this gorgeous, welcoming cottage. With old world charm but tasteful, comfortable furnishings you will instantly sink into that holiday feeling whatever time of year.

Your morning might begin with coffee in the open plan kitchen/living area looking out to the sun-drenched deck and flat lawn while you make plans for the day. You might grab a bike from the sports shed or a beach chair and wander the 6 or 7 minutes to Oneroa beach. You’ll probably come back via the excellent shops in Oneroa with supplies for a delicious lunch. An outdoor shower is great for post beach refreshment.
Lunch is on the deck under the shade sail followed by a game of badminton. Or if that’s too energetic the hammock awaits.
With decks at the front and back of the house you can follow the sun or the shade all day.
A spa pre-dinner will ensure total relaxation. Listen to the quietness, and the tuis. From there its bbq time or head out on foot to a choice of great local restaurants.
Everything is walking distance which gives you that real Oneroa village experience. If you’re heading to a wedding, you're just a short cab ride away from the popular Mud brick and Cable bay vineyards.
With two living spaces, everyone has room to do what they want. A fibre connection ensures the wifi is excellent. Use the apple box or chrome cast to access your own internet tv choices. On wet days there are good old fashioned board games and puzzles, or check out the funky Waiheke cinema in Oneroa. If it’s cold enough you might light the fire, but with three oil heaters and good insulation you’ll be toasty regardless.
In this location you don’t need a car so it’s an ideal spot for a weekend escape. Jump on the number 1 bus from Matiatia wharf which stops at the end of the road. Watch out for ducks crossing and proceed 100 metres. And then relax.

  • We stayed here for our wedding and it was a great central location for us to get into Oneroa. The boys had some great photos taken on the morning in the house and the gardens. The kids could walk down to the beach at the end of the road or play in the park across from the house. Lots of games, bikes, scooters for them to use. Kitchen was fully stocked with extras that you forget you need when you travel so that was super convenient.
    Antonia Jennings, Mar 2024

  • We recently had three nights in Oneroa and absolutely loved the house. From first impressions we didn't know what to expect as the house is very modest from the front. But a glimpse into the lounge room let me know we were not going to be disappointed. The house has beautiful stylish beachy decor, very comfortable beds and all the extras you might expect plus more! We were in the spa several times a day and it was the perfect way to chill after a busy day (of eating and drinking!) We were a family of four plus grandparents and the spacious sleepout gave the grandparents their own space to relax in. The outdoor toilet and shower was a bonus too. As you can tell we loved the house and would highly recommend.
    Marissa Bale, May 2019

  • “This place is well beyond a slice of heaven, and Richard and team make the whole experience perfect in every way. The house itself - with the sleep out and fresh vegetables growing in the backyard - was perfectly located and we could walk to The Oyster Inn. Thank you to Richard and team for absolutely everything - you went well above and beyond!”                                                                                        Suzanne Ellio, Mar 2019

The house was very clean and tidy and really nicely decorated with a well provided kitchen. We LOVED the spa after a long walk around the headlands. • "We had a fabulous time. There's nothing I can think of that needs improving or we didn't like. We loved the spa, the fire, the interior was so fresh and clean, along with the towels and linen. The outside area was fantastic, and even in June we got to sit out there in the afternoon."                            Nikki Crutchley, Jun 2018
  • "Great location for accessing the shops and beach etc. House had everything we needed and the bed linen was very comfortable.Spa pool was lovely too."                                                                                Kathryn Burbidge Mar 2018

  • "We had a fantastic weekend at this property, you can tell it is a well loved family home. It's modern clean and we loved using the jacuzzi and back garden. We will definately go back :-) in fact we are already planning our next visit!!"                                                                                                                 Lara Lipsham Feb 2018
  • “Absolutely stunning place, a real entertainer as well for a few families as the whole place opens up back and front with considerable deck space, spa etc. To note one of the double bedrooms is essentially in a granny flat which made it awesome to share with another family who may want a little bit more space than everyone being in together. Great touches like beach towels, coffee machine etc and the location is great - a decent walk but still walkable to the main town.”""
    Adan, Jan 2018
  • "Excellent property, it had everything we needed. Very well appointed being walking distance to Oneroa shops and the choice of two beaches. The house was just perfect, with a lovely backyard and very cosy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and will come back another time. Response to questions was very quick and helpful"                                                                                                                                    Amy Agnew Jan 2018
  • Island time is a fantastic bach! Beautifully decorated, instantly relaxing. The well equipped kitchen/living space at the back of the house opening out onto the deck and garden was a great place for the family to enjoy. Swinging in the hammock, kids playing on the grass, husband in the hot tub... bliss! The shed with scooters and outdoor games came in handy too. The living area at the front of the house was incredibly peaceful, perfect with a glass of wine at the end of the day!" "Richard and Sharonagh are brilliant at what they do. All communication was prompt and friendly. Sharonagh was lovely in person, gave us lots of tips for our trip to Waiheke and made us feel at home. Thank you!
