Whilst secluded, this bach has easy access to all the amenities of Oneroa and Surfdale. A 15 minute walk will take you into the heart of Oneroa village where you can indulge in fine dining. For the adventurous, there are many great walking tracks near by. It is the ideal base to explore the wonders of Waiheke, the amazing coastal walkways, world class vineyards and white, sandy beaches.

10 min walk to Little Oneroa Beach. A short drive or 15 min walk to Big Oneroa Beach and village where you will find a variety of shops, banks, ATMs, post office, petrol station, wine centre, cafes & restaurants. The village also has various Art centres, a Four Square supperette, Fruit & Veg shops and 2 Liquor stores. 

Only 5 minute drive to the passenger ferry located at Matiatia and approximately 10 minutes to the car ferry at Kennedy Point.

• We had a lovely stay here! The home is private and has a beautiful view of the harbor. It is about a 20 minute walk to town but the walk is very beautiful and was not a problem for us. The local bus stop isn’t too far away and taxis are an option. The house is well stocked and the kitchen has everything you could need. We will definitely be back.

• We've stayed at this property 3 times and the view never gets old. The house is located on a quiet street and has all the amenities you need to feel at home. We bring a car with us but you could walk or bus to Oneroa without hassle.

• A lovely cottage for two guests. a very well appointed house that’s in a secluded and beautiful part of the island. it’s not really walkable as there are no sidewalks on the road, and it’s a lengthy trek to town but you can catch a bus after walking on the road for about 15 minutes. overall it’s a very pleasant place to call home while you explore the island, especially if you have a car (convenient off street parking), bike, or scooters (our choice).

• A gorgeous, private space with all the amenities required for a seamless getaway. Richard was a fantastic host - dropping over a complimentary bottle of wine, providing extensive information about the island and speedy responses before and throughout our stay. The space was well-equipped with a well-stocked kitchen and pantry and all the incidentals you could need (batteries, mozzie coils, board games, books, candles etc.). The space itself was well-positioned to take in the gorgeou bay and while away an afternoon on the deck . Highly recommend hiring a car to travel around the island and take advantage of all it has to offer.

• Myself and two girlfriends had a perfect weekend away. the views were magic. we had a car which gave us more freedom for easy access to beaches, shopping and restaurants. without a car this would be more difficult. we chose to eat out for lunch and dinner on the deck at the house because the view and setting sun was gorgeous. kitchen well supplied and everything we needed.

• Wow! What a stunning view and lovely home. We arrived just in time to make sunset on our first night. It’s such a great spot on that balcony that we chose to cook and enjoy the next night there too. So many lovely things to do on the island and really appreciated Richards suggestions. Akito has great coffee! Lovely comfy beds and good quality sheets and towels. I slept so well. We would definitely stay again. Your place is the best!! Absolutely loved it. Hopefully I can stay again in the future.

• The Black Bach is a fantastic little property in a beautiful and peaceful location with amazing views. We enjoyed 3 nights here and could happily have stayed much longer. The house was exceptionally clean and the decor is lovely. We found the house to be well equipped and very well thought out for a small space. We really appreciated the covered deck and spent a lot of time out there - the outdoor heater was a nice touch and enabled outdoor dining in the evening. Richard very kindly dropped off a welcome bottle of Waiheke wine and the whole booking/ checking in process was very smooth. We didn’t have a car for this trip which was fine for us as we like walking around the island, but for anyone with mobility issues, walking to the village or bus stop could be a problem. Also, the bedrooms are very light early in the morning so if you are used to blackout blinds your dreams of a long sleep in might be dashed! On the other hand, sitting in bed with a coffee and the windows to the deck open is the perfect start to the day at any time. Would love to stay here again.

• 'The house is located in a very convenient location and at the end of a no-exit street which makes it feel very private and secluded. We had a car which made it easy to get around (felt close to everything!), and there is a nice off-street parking spot just in front of the house. The space was absolutely perfect for us (party of 2) and we loved the indoor/outdoor flow. It has been impeccably designed and decorated and the outdoor space and view are spectacular! You won't want to leave the house. A wonderful spot on Waiheke.'
